It's about Alan Turing, but Turing's story just serves as a clothes horse to hang various agenda-driven scenes onto, to make points about various issues. And these "message" scenes are not based at all on historical events or actual people.
I very strongly dislike such films since they make people more ignorant and biased by watching them, not less, and because an opportunity to tell an interesting true story was completely missed.
There is an interesting message from the true story of Turing's life and many things we can learn from it which far surpass this crass picture.
