It's an interesting drama film about a priest's inner turmoil. He has various struggles with doubt, the death of his son, his sexual needs, and concern about the environment, as well as his own medical concerns.
Some of the atmosphere is very reminiscent of Taxi Driver, I think the music is the same, although I haven't checked.
One thing I would like to point out: more than one of the "top-rated" reviews of this film, the ones "with spoilers", got various plot details wrong. It was a little surprising, and perhaps slightly humorous, to notice that reviewers writing rather grandiose opinions about the film actually didn't watch it very carefully.
