William Shatner - the man who knows

A long time ago, in a science fiction bookshop on Park Street in Bristol called "Forever People", in the science fiction books section on the second floor balcony, I came across a book written by actor William Shatner. The title of the book was "Tek (something)", one of Shatner's series of science fiction books, and on the front cover of the book was a legend or a sticker which said (as far as I can remember) "by William Shatner - the man who knows" - the seeming implication of the italicized word "knows" being that starring as Captain Kirk in 1960s television series "Star Trek" had given Shatner some special knowledge of matters science fictional or extraterrestrial.

Come the advent of the internet search engine, and I had expected to be able to confirm my memories of Shatner's book and its apparently absurd claims about Shatner's knowledge. However, despite repeatedly searching for variants on the theme of Shatner and the verb "knows", I've been unable to locate any information or even a hint about it. I don't think I imagined it, but on the other hand the idea that the priceless notion of Shatner being "The Man Who Knows" could somehow be lost forever is also hard to believe, so I'm putting this page up in the hope of finding someone who remembers this book cover.

If you have a copy of Shatner's book with the "Man Who Knows" claim on the cover, or alternatively can remember the exact words on the cover, please send me an email (address is at the bottom of the page).
