Google Chrome mysteriously speeds up after Windows Task Manager is selected

For reasons unknown, when Google Chrome web browser is running very slowly, starting Windows Task Manager (by pressing the three keys Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the same time) makes it suddenly speed up and stop responding sluggishly.

Does anyone know the reason why Google Chrome is sped up just by starting the Task Manager? One doesn't have to do anything except start it and then close it again. Replies to the email address below.
