Secret Window (2004)

Writer has a secret

When I start watching a film, I earnestly hope that it will feature either The President of The United States of America or even better, a writer.

I think most people would agree that there is nothing so great as films featuring writers, preferably ones who are struggling to write a story due to their writer's block. I'd like to ask Hollywood, if they cannot give us our beloved POTUS, please put a writer with writer's block in every single film. It's so incredibly interesting to find out about writer's block guys! I divide my life into two stages, the first stage of sadness and the second stage of true happiness when at last I got to see very many Hollywood pictures featuring a writer struggling to write something because of his writer's block.

This particular writer has a secret, which is that he eats vast quantities of sweetcorn while writing, which he somehow manages to grow very successfully in a shady spot between some trees, which he can see out of a window in the house. Note to film makers: vegetable crop plants don't grow in shady spots beneath trees guys! You're welcome.

I watched the first bit of it, then it got very boring around the time he went to the police about his dog, so I went to the end of it, I didn't want to spend any more time on this so I read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia.

I've heard that Johnny Depp's fans are so loyal that any film he's in makes money, which probably explains this low-effort film. I'm writing this review to remind me not to watch any more of his films.
