The Mechanic (1972)

Lame-brained, weak thriller with a few good scenes

Charles Bronson is an assassin who uses ingenuity rather than brute force.

The best you can say about this film is that some of the scenes are good, particularly the first part and the very last part. What's between the start and the end is largely lame-brained, lacking tension, with a weak plot that doesn't really add up to much.

It's almost as if the makers came up with a few good ideas for scenes, and then had to stitch them together with a plot which was an afterthought.
