F for Fake (1973)

A tedious mish-mash

F for Fake is a tedious mish-mash of barely-related items. The only reason this film was ever made was the association with Orson Welles.

Sadly enough Orson himself was something of a fraud, for instance he claimed on a TV chat show that he had met Hitler on a trip to Europe, an extremely unlikely story which historians comprehensively debunked.

It's very hard indeed to understand the high rating of this film on IMDB, or the enthusiastic reviews.
