On the Basis of Sex (2018)

Well made but not much content

It's a well made picture telling a story of US judge Ruth Ginsburg.

The first point to notice is that the crux of the story is about a tax deduction for a man caring for his mother. It's not really a hugely emotional issue.

The next point is that none of the cast looks anything like the people they are portraying. I won't go into details because you can find lots of pictures of RBG's family using Google images.

Also, although Ruth Ginsburg seems to have encountered some frustrations on her road to the top it doesn't really come across as her overcoming gigantic obstacles or something, just some unfortunate prejudices, and in fact it portrays her as being acknowledged as something of a star from the get-go.

It's a little bit hard to work out what people found inspirational in this story.
