Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965)

Some good quips in the midst of a very mediocre Z-movie

This film was hyped by John Waters as "The best film which will ever be made" or something like that, but it really is not. The plot isn't there, and the actors are all unknowns, for most of whom this or another Russ Meyer job was their first and last performance, and none of them are that great.

The big fun part of this picture is the villainous go-go dancer Varla, played by Tura Satana, who has some outstanding quips and wonderful poses. Her fight scene and driving scenes are unconvincing, although her go-go dance scene at the beginning is quite ok, except for the weirdos shrieking "Go Go Go" at her, for some reason.

Tura Satana said that she had improvised her lines, including the quips, for this picture, which may be true, considering the dialogue of Meyer's similar film "Motor Psycho" has nothing like this in it.

It's a pity that cutie Susan Bernard was never seen again after this on screen (although she did appear as in Playboy magazine, apparenly) but the rest of the film is just a lot of low-budget jiggery-pokery stuff and nonsense.
