The main plot is about a gangster who's being blackmailed about his fake daughter, and Nero Wolfe who agrees to take the case due to a meat shortage.
There are two versions of this, the international version which runs for 90 minutes and the USA version which runs for 45 minutes.
The USA version is completely missing the best part, where the gangster, also called Archie, makes "spaghetti with gravy" in Fritz's kitchen, after being dissatisfied with Fritz's version of the dish.
