The Kitchen (2019)

Poor crime drama

It's a crime drama about three women who take over a crime gang when their husbands are in prison.

The drama is structured poorly. First of all the women are seen as victims of the men, then suddenly, somehow, they have managed to take over the racket, by making a few wise remarks.

Then the women, who we were supposed to be sympathetic towards, turn into disgusting, murderous, dispose-of-the-body-in-the-river types with the help of some kind of "magical" murder-helper guy who is a "Vietnam vet", and are negotiating with the mafia, murdering a Jewish man who won't use their building services, and so on and so forth.

The whole thing appears to be sheer silliness not based in the real world, events which seem incredibly unlikely and far-fetched placed on the screen without explanation.

The three women characters are not in any way substantial. I don't criticise the acting since I don't see how any amount of talent at acting would save this story.
