In the Heart of the Sea (2015)

Overdone, not based on the story at all.

Disclaimer: I've only watched 35 minutes of this, I'm not going to watch the rest.

First off, Chris Helmsworth, playing the ship's first mate. It's a little difficult to believe that he is a competent person who has been given authority on a ship. I haven't seen this actor in other films so I don't know why it's performed like this, whether it's his way of acting or the direction or the script or what, but maybe this actor is more suited to some kind of swashbuckling film or something.

Second, the plot seemed ridiculous. It's supposedly based on a true story and yet the captain is childish and incompetent, and most of his dialogue consists of insulting the first mate.

At this point I went to the Wikipedia article about this ship. It's public so you can read it and check for yourself. Suffice to say that this silly plot and the daft characters are not based on the true story of the ship.

I don't want to watch any more of this nonsense.
