Gilmore Girls (2000-2007)

Season one was interesting

Season one was pretty good with some interesting characters. The lead Alexis Bledel who plays Rory is absolutely stunning and also a great actress considering her youth. Lauren Graham who plays Lorelai copes well with the wisecracks she's called on to deliver. On the negative side Scott Patterson was miscast as the diner owner Luke.

I enjoyed season one, but by season two it started to grate. The most annoying thing was the way they kept changing Lorelai's mother Emily's personality from episode to episode just to act as a foil for Lorelai, so one episode they would be arguing about one thing and the next they would be arguing about something else.

Pet peeve: the scenes of cooking with Melissa McCarthy were completely ridiculous, for crying out loud don't store your produce in pretty little arrangements, or keep lots of bottles on shelves by a window in direct sunlight, put them into proper storage, and don't stick your fingers into the food. The practices in that kitchen are truly unprofessional. I would like to see this woman actually cope with a day's work in a kitchen.

The running jokes about Lorelai drinking too much coffee and Lorelai and Rory only eating takeaway food should be accompanied by a running joke about her chronic constipation/diarrhea.

Something which is odd is that at one time or another most of the characters behave passive aggressively and endlessly do things like saying that it's fine or everything is OK when it clearly isn't.
