Interstellar (2014)

Huh?

A difficult-to-decode message tells him to go to a location, then having arrived there they find they can't take off the spaceship without him, even though they made no effort to contact him except by future him sending a message by "gravity".

They are searching for a planet for future humans to land on, so they land on a planet with gigantic waves where time runs very fast, orbiting around a black hole.

The earth is dying, so they're unable to grow any plants except sweetcorn, due to a blight which lives on nitrogen, according to the Michael Caine character, so all the other millions of crop plants have all died?

It just doesn't make any sense at all.
